It is with great pleasure I am welcoming you to a very happy and rewarding new academic year. Doors of the hospitality industry are more wide open than ever before. The employment concept has undergone tremendous changes and the role of the industry in accelerating the economic development of a country is widely recognized. In the human resources scenario, young and talented professionals with strategic specialization is the need of the day. It is in view of this that The SNGM Catering College was established by the Sree Narayana Guru Memorial Educational and Cultural Trust, Thuravoor, Alappuzha. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India and affiliated to the University of Kerala. Considering the ever increasing demand for talented professionals, SNGM Campus introduces yet another course in Hospitality Management. I whole heartedly invite you to join  with us in this venture to strengthen young  personnel  to achieve their best.
Course will definitely push the intakes to the forefront of the career with all kind of practical available in the industry.

Syllabus is devised to achieve this target with very strict stipulations on the set up for practical training. Apart from the Syllabus, campus will provide students with classes by highly talented professionals in the industry as a finishing touch. 

Hotel Management and Catering Technology is streamlined to provide top notch education in Hospitality , catering and tourism. The projected global scenario of the requirement for professional personnel to answer to the demand of fast growing hospitality business and the new trends in  travel and tourism promise highly rewarding careers for the takers of this course.

 

Eligibility for Admission

i) Qualification generally required for admission to degree courses of the University of Kerala.

A pass in V.H.S.E./+2/P.D.C. with minimum 50% marks of the state or equivalent qualification approved by the university of Kerala

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examinations from a university or board outside the state of Kerala have to furnish a copy of the 'Eligibility Certificate' obtained from the University of Kerala along with the filled application forms for admission


Application Form

Application form and prospectus can be had from the college office on all working days on payment of Rs.250/- or by post against an M.O. for Rs.275/- in favour of the Manager, S.N.G.M. Catering College, Valamangalam South P.O., Thuravoor, Cherthala, Alappuzha - 688 532.

Interview

Candidates provisionally selected for admission  have to appear  for an interview before the Principal   accompanied by  Parent/Guardian on such dates and time as are individually notified or generally advertised. Candidates are to bring all certificates and other documents in original along with attested copies and  four copies of Passport Size photographs at the time of the interview.

 

Transportation

Daily trips of college buses are available for the students and facul ties from Cherthala,Alappuzha, Ernakulam  and Kottayam  covering all the nearby towns


Hostel Facility

Accommodation is provided for both girls and boys separately in the college campus itself. Hostel fees: Rs 30,000/- per academic year for food and accommodation, payable in advance. This is for the academic year 2011-12 and is subject to revision every year.
